“The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”
Education transforms health
I believe in the power of education to transform health. As health professionals, education is fundamental to delivering quality services to patients and clients while staying up to date with the skills and knowledge from research and scientific advances. If you’re running a health organization, you’re responsible for educating your employees and the patients, clients or communities you serve.
Connecting to the right support matters
I have also learned that you can’t achieve anything significant on your own, no matter how hard you work. And if anyone knows about hard work, talk to a nurse, health educator or anyone in the health industry! So if that’s you, I want to help you achieve your goals by offering strategic customized support with your goals whether it’s for you or services you deliver to your patients, clients, employees or community.
I’m Yvonne Angwenyi and I came to the United States from Kenya as an international student more than a decade and a half ago. Growing up in Kenya reinforced the importance of investing in education and health, especially for girls and women. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of learning and connecting with incredibly talented people in California, Kenya, Maryland/DC, North Carolina (where I’m currently based) and other places. 83 South Health is an opportunity to disseminate these important lessons, because we can save lives through knowledge sharing and collaboration.
